As a freelance print reporter, Zeynep files articles on breaking news and political developments in Turkey with speed, accuracy and balance, while cooperating with other media platforms and correspondents in the United States, Middle East and Europe. She’s interested in building on her skills to pursue long-form writing opportunities and continue working across formats.
Zeynep works with international media including the BBC, AP, CNN and VICE. She has helped produce television and radio on breaking news stories, features and documentaries. Her experience and broad list of contacts have gained clients rare access, from the corridors of power in Ankara to the country’s precarious southeast and across the Aegean on the migrant route.
Zeynep is bilingual in Turkish and English, has elementary knowledge of Arabic, intermediate German and can read Ottoman Turkish. She received her BA with honors from the University of Chicago and MA in Near Eastern Studies from New York University. She loves running, swimming and reading. Zeynep holds a HEFAT certificate and is available for assignments.
